The only currently compatible elo touchscreens (single-touch resistive) for the RHMI have been discontinued by the manufacturer, effective March 2019. Specifically the 220 1 L. I learned this the hard way recently; I ordered and had to return the 220 2 L, elo's current model. The 2202L is multi-touch capacitive and will not work with the RHMI (I tried). I'm lucky that I found a vendor with a 2201L screen on the shelf so I could ship the project. Any plans for a driver update to use current hardware from elo, or alternatively, any recommendations for another tested vendor's offerings that will work with the RHMI? The RHMI is a great offering, but I can't use it if it won't support current touchscreens. Put it another way: what happens if/when my client's 2201L screen dies? How do I support them? Thanks, Ryan Poethke

Any answers to this from AD? Dealing with a similar issue with Planar touch screens. Very limited usability if the HMI is incompatible with current touchscreen technology. I have 3 of these on the shelf just waiting till they can be used with the 3 new Planar touchscreens sitting next to them! :(

Nope. Not a peep out of AD regarding the touchscreen issue. The last firmware release is 6.52, last October. I opened a support ticket with AD in November regarding this, and there's been no resolution, so far as I know.
My support ticket also included some other bugs I found (and Tech. Support admitted they were bugs) that they haven't addressed either. I don't think I'll be designing for the EA9-RHMI unless/until they fix this. It's a real shame too - it's a nice piece of hardware for the most part, and the price is reasonable.
AD Tech Support - if you 're reading this, please address it! And soon!

Make sure yo are signed up for Software Update notifications.
The Jan 22 release of 6.53 added the eGalax Driver which is used by many Industrial Monitor on the market. You will have to check with the manufacturer though. This is not updated in documentation yet.
Keep in mind the, the ELO and eGalax Drivers are for single touch resistive touchscreens. Capacitive, single or multi-touch is not supported.
Some monitors, like the ELO have a Sonic Acoustic Wave touchscreen that uses their Resistive Single Touch Driver, so it works.
It seems the mistake some customers are making is buying an off the shelf monitor with a capacitive touchscreen and expecting it to work. It will not. There is no configuration that will make it work because the RHMI does not have the driver to support it.
Some manufacturers we have tested and found that work are:
Hope Industries - ELO
ELO - ELO
Advantech - eGalax
Tru-Vu - eGalax
Dynics - eGalax
There are many other but you should contact the manufacturer and ask them which driver their touchscreen requires.
Hope this is helpful

A little more info.
The 6.53 Update in January added the eGalax Resistive Touchscreen Driver in addition to the ELO Resistive Touchscreen Driver.
We tested these touchscreen monitors:
Tru-Vu Monitors - VMTR-15C-24 - https://tru-vumonitors.com/products/vmt-15-series/
Dynics - FX15PTUMAD - https://www.dynics.com/industrial-flat-panel-monitors
Advantech - IDS-3215R-40XGA1E - https://www.advantech.com/products/7...0-4a53ed7e5a51
Determining the driver used by the manufacturer can be difficult. I recommend you contact them and be sure.
For ELO Touchscreens we have found:
Hope Industrial Systems work well at a good price - https://www.hopeindustrial.com/
And of Course our own Atlas line of monitors use the ELO driver and work well with the EA9-RHMI https://www.automationdirect.com/adc...trial_monitors
Questions come up about pCap screen support. Unfortunately we have not found a pCap driver that will work on the EA9-RHMI Operating System but we continue to research this possibility.
