N100 (Customer) asked a question.

Basic Question: Trying to use a Stride unmanaged switch to connect a PLC to 2 HMIs.

So, basically, I am trying to connect a PLC and 2 HMIs that controls that PLC. 3 devices to have different IPs, same Subnet, and no Gateway. It is a local network does not need to connect to facilities' network.

If, I purchase the Stride unmanaged switch, will these devices be able to communicate with one another?

Also, does the PLC connect to Port #1 and the two HMIs to any ports other than 1 or do they all connect to other ports besides port #1?

This is the device I am thinking of buying,

Industrial Unmanaged Ethernet Switch: 5 ports (PN# SE2-SW5U) | AutomationDirect

If they are on the same subnet it doesn't matter what port anything is plugged in on with a dumb switch as long as you don't create a network loop.
