P1-540 Fail to connect - Power cycle resolved issue

We had a P1-540 that would not connect.

It would show in the 'Go Online' browser.

When trying to connect, we would see a "CPU missing' error dialog.

I have a system report. I will PM it to tech support if requested.

I've had a handful of these in the past. Have you encountered random System Restarts after a runtime transfer? Seems to happen with an update to the MQTT functions, anecdotally. Haven't gotten anywhere (system reports don't show anything I'm told) and don't trust them anymore.

Yes, but not in a while. I do not have any commissioned projects with MQTT.

You didn't specify hardware/firmware/software revisions (above.)

    don't trust them anymore

We have many in-house. However, they are in-house, so we can respond quickly to them.

I cannot say that I do not trust them, it is just the occasional annoyances that leave me wanting.

AB has done this to me, too - at a higher price!

Do you know if any of your issues have been addressed in any release notes?

    I have had after-transfer issues

I am not the only one

All in the past year with FW 20220718 on P1-540s and P1-550s using SW 4.0.1.7. Never had issues years prior with older versions on same firmware and older firmware's alike.

In the Bug Fixes for 4.0.1.7 there is a note on line 24 "CPU can crash when using run-time transfer to create new retentive tag arrays". This is the version I have issues with though...

If they were in-house I could live with it, remote it is a major hassle and the way support was handled led me to alternative products instead.

I think that any lifers here know that I am very hesitant to adopt the latest software (and possibly firmware) revs without sufficient time to find the easter eggs! 😮

As am I, but that will conflict with Tech Support recommendations...
