Snewm (Customer) asked a question.
Searching for PLC program, DirectLogic06 for Scandinvent Edgetec 3500.
We have an edge polishing machine that we have had for quite some time. There was a power surge that took out the PLC and a few other controller modules. We have them all replaced but the company that made it is no longer in business. I've looked everywhere to find a program and have not been successful. I'm at the point where I'm out of options and thought I would try here in case anyone has one and could help me out.
Appreciate any assistance I can get.
You say"...power surge that took out the PLC...". Does this mean the "PWR" light is off when powered up? Is this a DL205? If this is a DL205, have you tried installing the CPU into a new DL205 base and powering it up? If so, what lights were on/off on the CPU? If so, with the switch in "TERM", were you able to connect to the CPU using DirectSOFT? Hoping that the power surge just took out the DL205 base/power supply. Hoping that the ladder program (stored in non-volatile memory) is still intact. And that the CPU is not locked by the original programmer. (this depends on the original contract, and a discussion for another post!)
I had a 205 PLC go into the 'Red LED O Death'.. After many attempts I was unable to get to come back alive.. Tossed it in a Drawer for about a Month.. Then on a whim, I Powered it back up and it came alive..
Don't give up on it just yet..
