MR-CYN (Customer) asked a question.
Why am I getting this error? It's a simple latch circuit. I've always just used the set coil to remedy this but today I decided I'd like to learn something. It suggests using an st1 but that's not what I'm after. I'm trying to copy an AB ladder rung...
The compiler will not accept the program unless you place an ST1 on a normally open contact on the first rung where I have placed the square.
Ok. I thought it was telling me to change my first contact X1 since that's what it hilighted when I clicked the error. So that makes a little more sense I guess.
Is there a better way to construct this circuit than what i', doing that doesn't require an ST bit just out of curiosity? Am i constructing it wrong?
The ST bit worked perfectly btw and my circuit functions correctly now. Thanks for your quick reply. You guys rock. 👍
See the attached image. As the software suggests, adding the ST1 contact inline with the Simple Midline Output will resolve this issue.
Within the Do-more Designer software Help File, search for 'DMD0220'. The results will return Help Topic DMD0220: "The Ladder Editor." There is a link labeled 'Compile Errors' that will provide information regarding the construction of your rungs, what might generate an error, and a recommended solution to a given problem. Take a look at this information and see if it helps.
