Nicholas.Horsey (Customer) asked a question.

Is there any plan to implement MQTT with TLS/SSL on the CLICK PLUS PLCs? I've seen it mentioned in the past and wanted to see if it is still on the roadmap.

MQTT with TLS/SSL will not be supported on the current CLICK PLCs. That said, secure MQTT connectivity is a capability we recognize is increasingly important, and it's on our radar as a direction for where our product line is headed. I don't have specifics to share at this time, but I'd encourage you to keep an eye on our website and product announcements going forward. If you purchase the C2-NRED module it supports MQTT with TLS as well as many other features including the ability to be a MQTT Broker with the node-red-contrib-c2nred-mqtt package.

Understood, thank you. The C2-NRED module can only communicate via the RJ-45 port on the module, correct? The module can't communicate over WiFi on a CLICK PLUS PLC CPU that has WiFi built into the CPU?

  • ADC_Click_PE01 (AutomationDirect)

Yes that is right only through the RJ-45, but a simple wireless adapter would fix that as well. Not a full solution, just wanted to offer a way to achieve your end goal.
