EmeraldSplash (Customer) asked a question.
In instances where I am not using a UDI for large blocks of logic due to slight required differences on some areas, it would be really nice to be able to replace just the prefix of all tags in a task. We can already select and replace entire tags, but if I have a task in which every tag that must be unique starts with Zone_X_ with X being a number, I cannot replace only the Zone_X_ section with a different zone number.
Am I just blind or is there no way to do this? If there isn't, I feel like this would be a really nice feature for large programs. UDI's can help with identical logic blocks, but it starts to get finicky when some tasks might be very similar but not the same. Not to mention I generally don't love over using UDI's. Though maybe that's just a bias on my part.
edit:
I just realized I left out an important part, while you can replace the prefix if the new resulting prefix already exists, there is no option to create any new resulting tags. For example if i have Zone_8_Shutoff_PE, and I duplicate the task to make Zone 9's task, I cannot just select zone 8, and replace all of the tag prefixes because the find/replace feature requires the resulting tag to already exist. It would be nice if it opened up a pop up window that allows you to just create the new resulting tags automatically and then replace them.
Ok got it. Thanks for the additional details. 😊 Unfortunately, this is not supported. I will forward your request to the Productivity Management team for their review.
