PSA, ltd (Customer) asked a question.

I'm having trouble connecting my CM5-T10W to my Productivity 1000 PLC (P1-540) over Ethernet/IP. Their IP's are on the same network and subnet. I can ping both independently but, when I run the 'Enquiry Test' on the HMI, it times out. Please Help.

PLC IP: 192.168.10.10 Subnet: 255.255.255.0

HMI IP: 192.168.10.20 Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Look hard enough, long enough and the answers present themselves. In the C-More HMI software, in the Navigation Window, Protocol Manager.

imageHere is where one can change the HMI-PLC Protocol (Yellow Arrow). The drop down list is where you will find all of the different protocols available. Ethernet/PLC is where one would find the connection in question (Green Arrow).

imageConfigure the connection. I changed the Protocol and added the PLC IP Address and clicked OK.

Added an indicator to a screen, tied it to a PLC tag, saved and then transferred to the HMI. Tested it. HELLO WORLD switched to GOODBYE WORLD and back as I flagged a proximity switch.

You need to use the Automation Direct Productivity Ethernet protocol in the Protocol Manager. You are currently set to Click Ethernet and this will not work. image
