XG5000 talk to 1734 Point IO AENT
I am able to establish connection using only the Logix Rack Exclusive Owner I/O type only. If i use theAssembly owner it says idle and busy. Can I make XG5000 talk to Allen Bradley 1734-AENT remote I/O modules?
Which PLC do you have and do you have the XBL-EIPT module? What are their firmware versions?
Thanks for the response. I am using a Xem dr14h2 plc and an eipt module. I believe latest firmware. They just came out of the box. We got it only very recently from you guys.
They probably don't have the latest firmware. You can download them from https://www.automationdirect.com/support/software-downloads?firmwareitem=LS_XEM%20CPUs&itemcode=XG5000§ion=productFirmware. Also, Are you using XG5000 V4.82.1 2026_07_20?
You are right
I have updated the firmware on the PLC and the EIPT
I have the latest XG5000 software
This is what I have in the IO Module settings
That is how it was before the firmware upgrade and still is after the upgrade
If you have a sample project using eipt with point IO i will appreciate if you can share
I have spent a lot of hours trying to figure this out all without any success.
When i used the Point IO with Rockwell's Processor it was seamless and very easy.
Are you using an EDS file? Their site links one here https://compatibility.rockwellautomation.com/Pages/Downloads.aspx?c=118&pid=137. If you are using one, can you send it to me?
Yes i am
I have the AENT adapter
with 1734 IB8 and OB8 connected
1734AENT
Can you try ADC_EIP_StatusFB example program available at https://cdn.automationdirect.com/static/helpfiles/ls_plc/Content/D_MoreInformation/ExampleApplications.htm? We can see if it returns any general or extended EtherNet/IP status values.
Try this example program that uses a Generic Connection. You may have to modify the configuration data if the default values in the example aren't correct. You will also have to change the IP addresses of the EIPT module and AENT module in the project.
XG5000 seems to have issues parsing the Rockwell EDS file.
1734AENT_Test
Thank you for the test file
I set the IPs to what I have with me but I still do not have a connection.
I am not sure what I should be changing in the configuration data.
